6/16/2023 0 Comments Nvidia shield tv pro steam linkThe screen says its 57fps but doesn't feel like it at all. When first connecting to Steam Link sitting in menu I tried toggling options on and off in every permutation I can think of (HEVC on the client, NVFBC and Hardware Encoding on the host for example) and still can't get my 60 frames. played around all the settings from Beautiful, down to the lowest settings with the same results. Running a network test, displays that everything is good at 100mb. Tried it out and the exact same issue is still happening. I booted up Steam Link on the NVIDIA Shield TV and got the computer connected. When I try Remote Play to the NVIDIA Shield TV with my Steam Deck and get a constant 60fps on my TV with no issues.Īs another test, I completely formatted and reinstall Windows 10 and had only installed the latest video drivers, Steam and then installed a game. My entire network consists of all Ubiquiti equipment and all connections are gigabit as well. My system is connected via gigabit Ethernet. This has been tested on both Windows 11 and Windows 10. My system specs where the 3090 resides and streams to the NVIDIA Shield TV has an Intel i7 10700k, 32GB DDR4, MSI MEG Unify. This is constant and doesn't change even though toggling options to reduce quality. This happens whether you are in a game or sitting at the menu Steam OS. The issue shows from the debug information that the frames will hit 60fps for a millisecond and drop to 40 frames in about 1 second and will keep repeating. I've been troubleshooting this for the past few weeks and have come to the conclusion that the 3090 has to be the culprit of losing frames on Steam Link on the NVIDIA Shield TV (plugged in via ethernet).
